I own over 600 game titles on Steam and I am unaware of any other game (or non-gaming software) that showed a related behavior.

Having written more than a million lines of (productive) code in my life I feel with you about the huge effort to isolate a bug which you can't reproduce on your dev systems but that doesn't absolve you from following up reasonable and well-described bug reports from legit customers who paid for your software. Sure, in theory it's not the only way because we could have turned it into a major project and spent several months solving this fairly minor problem that can be easily fixed by a workaround. Again, the proper way is to instrument some debug code and investigate the root cause, not spreading falsehoods to your clients about "the only way to fix".

The AMD issue could only be solved (and was solved) by the AMD developers who were kind enough to play the game, isolate the issue, and update their drivers. How about analysing and fixing the issue in a proper way once and for all? I am willing to help, whatever analysis or debug software is required to run on my system. Less than 0.5% of players is affected so we don't want to enable the hardware cursor for everyone by default. Unfortunately, it is the only way to fix it as your system doesn't like something about the engine.
